Quick answer
Yes, if you own a Big Green Egg Large and want indirect cooking from a deflector cheaper than the ConvEGGtor. A 44.5 cm cordierite disc, 1.5 cm thick, 3.11 kg, rated to 1000 °C. The catch: the listing never says how it sits. On any other kamado, check your diameter. Amazon rates it 4.3 out of 5 from 97 reviews.
Cordierite, 44.5 cm across, 1.5 cm thick and 3.11 kg: a full disc for indirect cooking in a Big Green Egg Large. The listing does not say how it sits, and we have not tested it.
The Onlyfire F-FPA5049-YE-EU is a round disc of cordierite, 44.5 x 44.5 x 1.5 cm and 3.11 kg. Amazon's title talks about a "circumference of 44.5 cm", but the dimensions table on the same listing gives 44.5 long and 44.5 wide: that is the diameter. The listing states up to 1000 °C, hand washing, and use with Big Green Egg Large, Kamado Joe, Pit Boss, Louisiana, Grill Dome and Coyote. Amazon files it under pizza stones for barbecues and smokers, where it ranked 4th when we read the listing.
What it does in a kamado is put a layer of ceramic between the coals and the food. That is a [deflector](/glosario#plate-setter): heat no longer rises straight up to the food but goes round the edge of the disc and reaches it by convection, which is how the listing describes it. That is how [indirect cooking](/glosario#indirect-cooking) works, the basis of low and slow, of a [spatchcock whole chicken](/recetas/pollo-entero-espatchcock-kamado) or of ribs. If you are torn between direct and indirect, the [guide to deflectors](/guias/coccion-directa-vs-indirecta-kamado-deflector) explains it calmly.
The fit, by the numbers. A Big Green Egg Large has a grate of about 46 cm, so 44.5 cm leaves a little under 1 cm free on each side (our arithmetic): on paper it fits that circle with a thin margin, and where the air gets round it depends on the height it sits at, which the listing does not give. The listing also names the Large. For a Kamado Joe Classic the listing cites only the brand, not the model, and that is not enough: check your diameter. On an XL or a Big Joe, at about 61 cm, the disc is undersized and leaves a wide ring uncovered. On a MiniMax or a Joe Jr, at 33 cm, it will not go in. Against [Big Green Egg's own ConvEGGtor](/accesorios/bge-conveggtor-large), which shows as out of stock in our catalogue, this is a cheaper alternative for the same size.
Now the drawbacks, all of them from the listing. It does not say how it sits: no legs, no supports, no word on what height it ends up above the coals, and without that we cannot tell you how to place it. There are no pre-heating instructions either, and 3.11 kg of ceramic is not something you move hot without gloves. It is a flat disc, so fat that drips onto it stays in the ceramic; the sensible move is a tray between the meat and the disc. The listing is also translated in fits and starts ("huevo verde grande grande"), and the name mixes "pizza stone" with deflector without giving any steps for pizza. A 4.3 out of 5 from 97 reviews is a decent score from a small sample.
Verdict: a plain, cheap deflector for a Big Green Egg Large, with the question of how it sits still open and a duty to measure on any other kamado.
A plain, cheap cordierite deflector for a BGE Large. Buy it with two doubts open: the listing does not say how it sits, and we have not tested it.
Editorial rating from spec sheet, measurements and kamado fit · not a hands-on test
Pros
- 44.5 cm cordierite, 1.5 cm thick: a full 3.11 kg disc
- Listing states up to 1000 °C and names the Big Green Egg Large outright
- One piece, hand wash, nothing to assemble
- 4.3 out of 5 from 97 reviews and 4th place on its Amazon list
Cons
- The listing does not say how it sits or whether it has legs: you work that out
- 3.11 kg of ceramic: when hot it only moves with good gloves
- Names brands, not models: on a Kamado Joe or similar, check your diameter
Who it's for
For anyone with a Big Green Egg Large who wants indirect or low and slow cooking without paying for a ConvEGGtor, and does not mind working out how to rest it.
Not for
If your kamado is not a Large, measure first. And if you want a stone for baking pizza, the listing gives no instructions for that.

Onlyfire F-GCG8521: stainless grill expander rack, 40 x 33.7 cm
With the deflector in place, indirect cooking leaves room for a second level. This Onlyfire stainless expander, 40 x 33.7 cm, lists a fit with the Big Green Egg Large and Kamado Joe Classic, the same kamados as this disc. The listing does not publish its shape or clearance, so check the space under the lid before stacking.

Weber 6415 — small aluminium drip pans, 22 × 15 cm, pack of 10
On a flat deflector, the fat from the meat ends up in the ceramic. These aluminium drip trays, 22 x 15 cm in a pack of ten, sit between the food and the disc and are thrown away afterwards, so the cordierite stays cleaner.

WMF BBQ Heat-Resistant Leather Gloves 40 cm (Pair)
The disc weighs 3.11 kg and ceramic at those temperatures is not for bare hands. A pair of 40 cm leather gloves is what you use to lift out and reposition the deflector and to move the grates without burning a forearm.

FAQ
Will it fit my kamado?
It measures 44.5 cm across and 1.5 cm thick. The listing names Big Green Egg Large, Kamado Joe, Pit Boss, Louisiana, Grill Dome and Coyote, but cites brands, not models. With a grate of about 46 cm, like that of a Large or a Classic, it leaves under 1 cm a side (our arithmetic). It will not go into a MiniMax or a Joe Jr, and on an XL or a Big Joe it is undersized. For anything else, check your diameter before ordering.
How does it differ from the ConvEGGtor in the catalogue?
Both do the same job in a Big Green Egg Large: ceramic between the coals and the food. The ConvEGGtor is the brand's own part and shows as out of stock in the catalogue. This Onlyfire is a cheaper cordierite alternative. We cannot say more because we have not compared them, and this one's listing does not explain how it sits, so that difference stays unresolved. Do not mistake it for the BBQ-Toro deflector stone either: that one is 34 cm and sold for a "52 cm kamado", against the 44.5 cm of this one, meant for grates of about 46 cm. A 34 cm piece in a Large leaves part of the coals uncovered.
Does it also work as a pizza stone?
The listing sells it as a deflector, yet Amazon files it among pizza stones and the description talks about Onlyfire's pizza stone. What is missing is any instruction, time or temperature for baking pizza. Cordierite is a common material for stones, but from what the seller publishes we cannot promise that use. If pizza is the goal, look at the dedicated stones in the catalogue.
How do I clean and look after it?
The listing says one thing only: hand wash. It gives nothing more, neither on oils nor on sudden temperature changes. With a ceramic piece, the cautious approach is to let it cool inside the kamado before touching it, and not to wet it while it is still hot. That is our reading, not the manufacturer's. If you cook with fat, a drip tray on top saves you cleaning the cordierite every time.
