The direct alternative to the Inkbird IBT-4XS for under €70. Four probes, 150m Bluetooth range and a USB-rechargeable internal battery — no AAAs to replace. Arguably the best value Bluetooth thermometer on the market in 2026.

The TP25 ships with four color-coded probes (meat + chamber) and a backlit LCD with graph view in the app. ±1°C accuracy over 0-300°C, USDA presets per meat type and 16 alarm tones. Declared battery life is 40 hours per charge — plenty for a 14h brisket cook.

FAQ

  • What is the difference between the ThermoPro TP25 and the Inkbird IBT-4XS?

Both are four-probe Bluetooth thermometers in the same price band. Key difference: the TP25 has a USB-rechargeable internal battery (40h per charge), the IBT-4XS uses two AAAs. Declared Bluetooth 5.0 range on the TP25 (150m) beats the IBT-4XS (50m), although walls flatten that gap. App and accuracy are very close.

  • Does it really reach 150m of Bluetooth on a terrace with walls?

150m is open-air line-of-sight — the standard Bluetooth 5.0 marketing number. In a real house (two plasterboard walls plus a load-bearing wall) expect 25-35m before the app loses signal and barks the alert. Fine for watching a cook from the sofa; if you go grocery shopping, step up to the IBT-26S WiFi.

  • How long does the battery last on a long brisket cook?

ThermoPro claims 40 hours per full charge. In practice a 14h brisket eats about a third of the tank, so you can chain two or three long smokes before plugging the USB-C. Nice touch: if you run out mid-cook, any power bank charges it while it keeps working.

  • Can I use it inside an oven as well as a kamado?

Yes — the probes are rated to 300°C and the cables survive a domestic oven door fine. It does not work in a microwave (no metal-probe thermometer does) or in a sealed airfryer with no cable pass-through. For a normal oven, plancha or smoker, perfect.

  • Are the probes interchangeable with other brands?

No. The TP25 jack is proprietary and will not accept Inkbird or MEATER probes. If one fails, buy an official ThermoPro replacement (sold in twin-packs on Amazon). Good news: the color-coded probes rarely fail unless cables are kinked when stored.
