The basket that splits coals into two heat zones and shakes free of ash without disassembling the kamado. Fits Kamado Joe Classic II/III (18") and BGE Large — NOT MiniMax or Junior.
Built from 1.5mm 304 stainless steel with a removable central divider. 35cm outer diameter, 12cm tall — fits any 18" kamado firebox. The divider lets you run direct sear on one side and deflector + indirect on the other. The 8mm grid floor drops ash into the firebox so you can empty without lifting the basket. Drop-in replacement for the original Kamado Joe basket (KJ-CB23) at half the price.
The upgrade every KJ Classic owner should do — and as a replacement, no debate.
Pros
- Fits KJ Classic II/III and BGE Large (18" firebox)
- Central divider — two heat zones in one cook
- 1.5mm 304 stainless — handles >800°C without warping
- Half the price of the KJ-CB23 official part
Cons
- Won't fit small kamados (Junior, MiniMax, Minimo)
- Divider is removable but tight to slot on first install
Who it's for
For Kamado Joe Classic II/III or BGE Large owners replacing a burnt-out basket or adding a divider their grill didn't ship with.
Not for
If you own a small kamado (BGE MiniMax, KJ Junior, BGG Minimo) — go for the compact Vankey version instead.

FAQ
Which kamados does this basket fit?
It is sized for the 18-inch units: Kamado Joe Classic II and III, and Big Green Egg Large. It does not fit compacts like the MiniMax or Joe Jr, which need a smaller basket. If your kamado is one of the big tabletop models, it drops in without forcing.
What is the central divider for?
The divider lets you build two separate fire zones inside the same chamber: charcoal on one side for direct-heat searing and the other side empty for indirect cooking. It is the simplest way to run two doneness levels at once without rearranging coals mid-service.
How does it make ash cleanup easier?
The basket lifts the charcoal above the base and lets ash fall to the bottom of the firebox. When you finish, you pull it out, shake it and empty the ash without dismantling the ceramic chamber. The stainless steel takes the heat-and-cool cycle without rusting like painted steel.
Does it improve airflow and high temperatures?
Yes. By lifting the charcoal off the base, air circulates under and around the coals, which is exactly what a kamado needs to reach pizza or searing temperatures. Without a basket, charcoal packs against the bottom and chokes the draught.
