Aramid/cotton knit glove with an inner cotton liner and silicone palm. The liner adds insulation and comfort you appreciate over long smoke sessions, opening and closing the lid many times.

The case for these Semboh is the liner: an inner cotton layer that insulates a touch more and, above all, makes the glove far more comfortable to wear for a while. On a long low-and-slow session —opening the lid, repositioning the probe, moving cuts every few minutes— that comfort matters. The knitted outer with silicone palm grips hot metal without slipping and keeps good five-finger dexterity. The honest catch with a liner: if it gets damp inside (sweat, steam) it's slow to dry and meanwhile conducts more heat, so keep it dry. As a general-purpose kamado and smoker glove it's a very sensible balance of protection, feel and comfort. Hand-wash; don't tumble dry.

FAQ

  • How do they differ from an unlined glove?

The cotton liner insulates a touch more and they're more comfortable to wear for a while, ideal for long smoke sessions.

  • Can I machine-wash them?

Better by hand and air dried. The liner is slow to dry and the machine can deform the knit.

  • Good for a hot cast-iron Dutch oven?

To grab the handle for a few seconds yes, but dry. With steam or liquid, a silicone glove protects better.
