Speciality
TODOBRASA is a Spanish importer specialising in Cuban marabú charcoal (Dichrostachys cinerea), the invasive shrub that Cuba turns into export charcoal under phytosanitary control. On Amazon.es it is one of the go-to names for premium marabú, its flagship sold in 10 kg sacks aimed at steakhouses and kamados.
What sets it apart
Marabú is one of the densest woods reaching Spain, and that density makes a charcoal that burns hot, lasts long and leaves very little ash. It lights to a stable ember with barely any sparking or aggressive smoke — a neutral profile that lets the meat do the talking. That is exactly the fuel a kamado is built to exploit: inside a sealed, well-insulated body, a long-lasting charcoal runs an entire session without refuelling.
Our take
Based on the specifications and the user community, we include the 10 kg Premium Ecological Marabú Charcoal as a sensible buy for anyone chasing sustained high heat — searing steaks, live-fire pizza, long low-and-slow sessions. The honest caveat is the usual one with marabú: sacks can arrive with uneven-sized pieces and some fines, so it pays to sort before loading the basket. For everyday use in a Big Green Egg Large or any kamado, it is a reliable working charcoal rather than a luxury product.
How we assess this brand
Brands do not pay to appear on mikamado.es and do not review what we write. Each product is judged by what it does in a real kamado: how it copes with the heat of the ceramics, whether its measurements match the listing, what warranty it offers in Spain and whether spares or after-sales service exist beyond the marketplace. When a brand sells only on Amazon, we say so, and we judge the piece by its material and relative price, not by its name. If anything on this page does not match your experience, write to us and we will check it.
