Origins and heritage

Boska is a Dutch family company founded in 1896, one of the world's benchmarks in cheese tools. The catalogue grew up around fondues, raclettes and cutters, but over time its solid-wood serving boards have earned a place of their own on the table. More than a century working kitchen timber shows in the natural finish and the proportions of every piece.

What sets it apart

The Friends and Amigo ranges are the heart of what Boska brings to the table's second act. The Boska Amigo L in beech, 51 cm, and the round Boska Friends L in oak, 55 cm, are generous discs, nearly half a metre across, made to present cheeses, charcuterie and nibbles. These are serving boards rather than heavy chopping blocks: their job is to show off, at the centre of the table, whatever comes out of the kitchen.

Our take

We keep Boska in the mikamado catalogue for a practical reason: when you pull an octopus, some ribs or a pizza off the kamado, plating matters as much as the cook. A wide oak or beech board turns that moment into a proper gathering. Based on the specs and the brand's long-standing reputation, it's an honest accessory you'll reach for often; the only caveat is the usual one with solid wood: hand wash, dry and oil now and then, never the dishwasher. For anyone who cooks outdoors and loves to host, it earns its place at every table.
