Specialty
PINI COAL is a German/European premium charcoal-briquette brand. One clarification up front: it should not be confused with Italy's Pini & Pini — despite the similar name, they are separate firms. Its flagship product on Amazon Spain is the premium charcoal briquette in a 10 kg format.
The briquette format aims at a clear goal: high calorific value and a burn time of 5 to 7 hours, built for mid-sized grills and for kamados on long cooks, where the point is to hold a steady temperature without constant topping up.
Our assessment
At mikamado we selected PINI COAL as a long-burn briquette option for cooks who prioritise duration over a fast light-up. Based on the specifications, the wider user community and our own cooking on our Big Green Egg Large, a dense briquette is exactly the fuel that best exploits a kamado's thermal inertia: a well-built load can carry a full low-and-slow roast.
The honest caveat: the brand's information on origin and process is thinner than that of long-established makers, so we judge it by what the specific product offers — the 10 kg format, its stated calorific value and burn time — rather than by a heritage we can't verify. Briquettes take a little longer to catch than lump; a good chimney starter helps.
Who it's for
For anyone doing long cooks who want ember stability — ribs, brisket, pulled pork — and prefers to refuel rarely. If your usage is a quick grill of vegetables or burgers on the spot, a fast-lighting lump will suit you better.
How we assess this brand
Brands do not pay to appear on mikamado.es and do not review what we write. Each product is judged by what it does in a real kamado: how it copes with the heat of the ceramics, whether its measurements match the listing, what warranty it offers in Spain and whether spares or after-sales service exist beyond the marketplace. When a brand sells only on Amazon, we say so, and we judge the piece by its material and relative price, not by its name. If anything on this page does not match your experience, write to us and we will check it.
