Origins and philosophy

Naturehome is a German brand founded in 2003, built around eco-minded homeware that goes beyond a marketing slogan. It works with certified sustainably sourced timber and favours natural finishes, with no synthetic varnishes or lacquers, letting the grain and feel of real wood do the talking.

What sets it apart

For outdoor cooking, its standout piece is the solid walnut cutting board in 58×36×3 cm, a generous slab that works as both a prep surface and a serving board. It is treated only with food-grade mineral oil and carries a perimeter juice groove that catches the runoff from a roast at rest, a genuine plus when carving something straight off the grill.

Our take

At mikamado we selected it because it pairs Scandinavian looks with honest materials: real solid wood, not plywood or a finish that flakes. The trade-off, shared by any hardwood board, is that it demands genuine wood care: hand washing, drying upright and periodic re-oiling. It competes with high-end walnut boards on natural finish more than on price.

It is a smart pick for anyone after a large, handsome board that is honest about its origins and doesn't mind a little upkeep in exchange for years of service.
