FAQ

  • Does it survive strong summer sun without fading?

The 600D fabric with UV treatment holds colour for a couple of years even south-facing on the coast. Then the black fades to dark grey, but waterproofing stays. The classic failure is not sun but seams after 3-4 years. By the time the first seam goes, you have got your €49 back.

  • Does condensation build up inside and rust the metalwork?

Slightly, yes, if you cover it right after a cook with the kamado still hot. Side vents help but do not fully solve it. Rule: wait until the kamado is cool to the touch before covering. If it rains and the kamado is warm, leave it uncovered and wipe water off later; the metal bands resist water but suffer with trapped steam.

  • Do the bottom straps hold against strong winds?

Yes, the backpack-style plastic buckles pull the fabric tight to the cart. Coastal Levante winds (60-70 km/h) are fine; with extreme gusts (>90 km/h) the better call is to remove the cover and bring the kamado under shelter. Buckles are the weak point — plastic. Metal would be better but would push the price up €15-20.

  • Does it fit a Kamado Joe Classic III with cart?

Yes. XL is sized for 18-21" kamados on a cart, which covers the Classic III, BGE Large and Primo Oval XL. There is enough slack to seal under the cart. For 24"+ kamados (Big Joe III, BGE XL) you need XXL — this one comes up short.
